Life Events – baptisms, weddings, funerals

Can I be married, arrange a baptism, or have a family funeral in St Michaels?

We do not require membership in order to offer our sacraments and services. We are also not concerned whether people are divorced.

To discuss your needs, please phone either Bp Richard on 0427 115 468  or you can e-mail him.

Baptism is a sacrament by which the recipient is solemnly admitted to membership of the Church.

Usually, the ceremony takes place in the church, and is presided over by one of our two ministers but it does not have to be. Ideally baptisms are administerd publicly in the presence of a congregation.

The essential matter of the sacrament is that water is poured three times on the forehead of the recipient, and the person doing the baptising must say, “[Name], I baptise you in the name of the Father, And of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

If you are looking for a qualified and highly experienced minister to conduct your wedding please contact Bp Richard.   We at St Michael’s and All Angels are here to make your ceremony memorable, and the heritage atmosphere of St Michael’s is the perfect place to do it.

People have different ways of farewelling people from life, and whatever they decide is how it must be done.

Contact us and we can discuss whether you would like us to conduct your loved one’s funeral.

And then we’ll work out how best to represent and honour the person that s/he was.
